Worthless with a accident I was in

Acuity - Worthless with a accident I was in
No communication would not return my calls and told the other insurance I was in jail when I was not instead of helping me with my claim and they closed the claim it was the other parties fault and I received nothing and they were no help

STAY AWAY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Acuity added Identity Theft Protection to my policy without asking if I wanted it (cost $40). Then they have the nerve to state that if I don't want it, I would need to call to cancel it. Don't give them a chance to sell you insurance. Are many other negative features with these clowns that I have not mentioned.

Big mistake going with Acuity

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Big mistake trusting a broker and not doing my own homework before going with them for our insurance. Apparently, they work with a third party (LexisNexis) and your rate goes up by 14%. They don't tell you why your rate increased so you have to call them and they are as helpful as talking to a wall. All they say is your insurance rating dropped by so many points and you have to go back to their third party to find out why. Sounds like a bait and switch scam to increase your insurance after you decide to go with them. After only one year as a customer, a customer who pays their rate and doesn't have any claims or tickets, they pull this stuff. I can't even imagine how bad they would be if we had to submit a claim. Buyer beware!!! Acuity - don't bother to respond to this with your pathetic cookie cutter response like you did for the hundreds of other complaints.

Lexis Nexis if for credit scores. I use them as well .

Guest

LexisNexis is not a "third party", they provide driving records. There are a million companies out there who do this and EVERY SINGLE insurance company uses at least one.

You have to run a driving record to write auto insurance - duh. If your rate got jacked it was because your record sucked.

Maybe you should reply to things you know more about. I have a clean driving record and my credit is excellent.

I called them a 3rd party because it is me, the insurance company, and LexisNexus. I did talk to someone at Acuity (after having to go to the top) and he disclosed they recently started a new rating on vehicles.

Initially they told me it was LexisNexis, but it was actually the rating of the BMW that changed and impacted the almost 10% increase. ***

Acuity only cares about getting your money not about you

Poor customer service, they don't take time to listen to you or care about you. They must be the insurance company that the movie "The Incredibles" used as a model for the company Robert Parr (aka Mr. Incredible) worked for. My advice is get insurance with a company that treats you right and stay away from Acuity.

Acuity cares more about their tall flagpole than their customers. Best to look elsewhere for your insurance needs.

Careless Customer Service?

My sister and I have had Acuity Insurance for a little over a year. House and two cars. We have not filed any claims. A few months ago, they accidentally canceled our house insurance. My sister's car insurance premiums rose every time she received a bill. The latest is that Friday (when I was at an auto dealer to trade in my car), I noticed that my sister's car is on my insurance card. It is also on her insurance card, so, technically, my car fell into the Acuity black hole. Needless to say, we will be shopping for another insurance company.

Do not sign up with this company

I wholeheartedly feel that Acuity insurance "baits and switches". If I could rate them in a minus category, I would. I never came even close to HINTING about inquiring about a claim in over 10 years that I had them as underwriter. But they pretty much doubled my premiums over one year after an audit. What a scam!!! DO NOT LET YOUR AGENT SIGN YOU UP WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL SURELY DO YOU WRONG!!!!

Hail Damage

My experience with PLS and Acuity Insurance has been horrible. My roof had severe hail damage on September 19, 2016. Acuity sent PLS as their agent adjuster. Acuity sent PLS as their agent adjuster. two contractors told me my roof was severely damaged. PLS disagreed. I requested a staff adjuster from Acuity to re-inspect my roof. My agent asked me to have my roof looked at by the contactor he choose. I agreed and this contractor also told me my roof was severely hail damaged. Acuity sent a different adjuster from the same company to do the inspection with the same result. Acuity essentially ignored my request and PLS continued to do their bidding. Do not buy Acuity insurance and do not allow PLS on your roof.

Acuity Auto Claim Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Acuity is a terrible insurance company. 2 months ago I was rear ended this was a 4 vehicles chain collision. My car was total loss. I have submitted claim from my emergency hospital bills and I am taken through the hoops. It's unbelievable my advice if you have Acuity for insurance find a different company.

I was hit by an Acuity policy holder and I am having *** to get them to pay my claims. Really bad company to have to deal with.

Worst Company EVER!!!

DO NOT GO TO ACUITY!!! They have horrible customer service! I suddenly started to not receive my bills so obviously they didn't get their payment from me. They then cancelled my policy but I never got the letter. They were however sending the correct info to my bank so luckily I caught it. Called up customer service & the agent was, for lack of better words, a ***. I told them I wasn't really happy w/ their service & threatened to look elsewhere for insurance, but for the mean time wanted my policy reinstated. She then informed me the underwriters would probably not renew the policy if I was going to look elsewhere for insurance. She put me on hold & came back & what do you know? They wouldn't renew the policy. I guess I hurt their feelings! Tell everyone you know NOT to throw their money away w/ these ***

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUSINESS WITH ACUITY!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been in business for 22 years. In that time I have never had a more frustrating experience than with Acuity. I was originally quoted a price for a year of insurance. They subsequently audited by account and found that they had made an error in my original quote. The cost of my insurance was backdated and almost doubled. Now keep in mind they didn't give me this information until the term was already about 50% finished and it had been at least three months since their audit. Business was busy so I just paid it even though I was getting screwed. So after I paid it in protest I received yet another bill. Again, my business is quite busy so I paid it and cancelled the insurance. Then I get yet another bill. Again I paid it. Now they are threaten to take me to collections if I don't pay yet another bill. Fortunately or unfortunately I have more money than time so I'm going to pay it to avoid having anything negative on my otherwise perfect credit. Original Quote: $4,376.00. Total amount that Acuity ended up extorting from me: $10,893.00.

Acuity Insurance puts you through hoops!

I was hit by and Acuity Insurance customer over 6 months ago and Acuity refuses to pay my claim. They have refused to pay my claim saying that they couldn't get a hold of the driver. Then they tell me that if they can't get a hold of the driver then they can cancel his coverage! Just because this guy won't answer the phone, his insurance company doesn't have to cover him? What kind of scam is that?!?!? You better hope you never get hit by a driver with Acuity Insurance because you will never get your repairs taken care of. All they do is hide behind BS technicalities.

I guess it depends which insurance policy you chose. If you have full coverage (collision) Acuity would have to pay regardless who hit you or what insurance they have, if any.

But if you take the cheap way out and just get (liability), you have no protection. Do you realize how many uninsured drivers there are out there?

Guest

Acuity is not at fault here. You cant expect them to pay for damages to your car just on your word that an Acuity policyholder hit you.

Think about it. would you want your insurance company to pay someone without talking to you? also, insurance carriers cannot cancel the policyholder and avoid the claim.

They can however cancel the policy within 30 days if the premium is not paid or at the end of the policy term. In either case the claim is still covered.

Guest

file a complaint with the state insurance commissioners office. they have to respond really fast...

i have been on the insurance company end and seen these complaints come in...

heads roll when the ins. commissioner asks them what's up...

Guest

That's pretty much standard across the board, you should have done as the other poster pointed out and used your own. They would have gone after Acuity for you. I don't think Acuity is in the wrong here.

Guest

I was hit by an Acuity-insured driver earlier this year, he was very much at fault. They said the same thing; they couldn't reach the driver.

However, after a week of telling me that, I pointed out that we should go ahead and get things done or I'll have to use my insurance and they'll go after Acuity or the driver in subrogation. That got the ball rolling.
